Many people I know are not too thrilled when it comes to the idea of getting in at least 8 cups or 64 ounces of water a day. However many experts say that the least amount keep the body from becoming dehydrated. Some people will go a whole day or more without getting in water. They say it has no flavor, it makes them gag, or they just prefer juice or soda over it. I will give you some tips and something’s I have actually tried that will aid in getting your 8 cups of water a day.
If the thought of consuming more than 8 ounces at a time bothers you, purchase the Deer Park water minis or whatever brand you prefer. If you are strapped for cash than use an 8 ounce cup and purchase the gallon of water that cost about $1 in the local markets. Some markets that I know have the gallon of water for a $1 is Shoppers, Food King, and Giants on occasions.
Another trick is not drinking the water all at one time. It would be good to space it out during the day. Perhaps you can have a cup of water every hour. If you want to have something other than water for lunch maybe double up first thing in the morning.
Many times when we go into restaurants and order water they add a slice of lemon to the water. Well this is just the tip of the iceberg. Another way of getting water in with added flavor is adding fruit; making your own vitamin water. So if you have a problem with getting in fruit each day, you are killing two birds with one stone so to speak. I have actually tried this before and it was pretty good. I actually had water with citrus and water with cucumbers. I have had people tell me that they have tried watermelon & mint and citrus.
“Make your own vitamin water. Add fruits instead of sugar for a natural sweetener for your H2O ♥
Cut the fruit into paper-thin slices or small chunks. Combine ingredients with water. Refrigerate 4-6 hours. Serve over ice.”
It is very important to get your water in each day especially with the temperature being so high these past couple of days. If you are an avid exerciser, it is very important to get in 64 ounces a day or more. I hope these tips help because they helped me.
