Donald Sterling Attends Predominantly Black Church

Is he trying to save face after what appears to be racial remarks about African-Americans? Sunday Donald Sterling attended a predominately black church service in L.A. The pastor of Praises of Zion Missionary Baptist Church; J. Benjamin Hardwick met Sterling two weeks ago and invited him to worship with the congregation. Sterling has been in the news because of a leaked audio of him disparaging African-Americans. Because of this, the NBA commissioner Adam Silver fined Sterling $2.5 million, banned him for life from the league and is now in the process to end his ownership of the Clippers.

On Friday, the National Basketball Assn. made an announcement about a  settlement with Shelly Sterling and the Sterling Family Trust that would allow the team to be sold to former Microsoft executive Steve Ballmer. In order for this sale to take place, the Board of Governors will need to vote.

It is unclear if Sterling addressed the congregation. However, Sterling is suing the NBA and Adam Silver for $1 billion. In the complaint, Sterling alleged the NBA committed antitrust violations, breached contracts and denied his constitutional rights.
