Lupita Nyong’o is gracing the cover for Vogue Magazine for the month of July. In the article she talks about winning an Oscar, becoming the face of Lancôme and more. She is also a fashion star in my eyes because anything she wears she makes look good. She talks about seeing herself in her role in “12 Years a Slave” and walking the red carpet.
“I was really nervous about seeing myself in 12 Years a Slave,” says Lupita, “because it had been such a profound experience in all ways. I remember it being one of the most joyful times in my life—and also one of the most sorrowful. I didn’t want my experience to be a vain one. But I will say that when I watched it, my heartstrings were pulled so tight for Solomon that I couldn’t go into the ego trip. I cried—I mean, I was inconsolable. I wept for an hour after the movie.”
Earlier this year, Lupita was deemed “Most Beautiful” by People Magazine. The actress who has proved to be beautiful inside and out had these words to say. “Light skin and flowing, straight hair” made women desirable, World’s Most Beautiful Woman Nyong’o, 31, told PEOPLE that her mother “always said I was beautiful. And I finally believed her at some point.” The Oscar winner, who’s now a face of Lancôme Paris, is excited for this honor in part because of “all the girls who would see me … and feel a little more seen.”
