President Obama Pledges $33 Billion To Africa

President Obama has pledged $33 billion in private and public assistance to Africa according to USA Today. He also urged African leaders to improve governance and national security in hopes that it will promote economic development. Amid the Ebola crises in Africa; more specifically Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, President Obama told African leaders the United States will “do whatever we can” to meet the Ebola crisis. Speaking at a summit on Wednesday, President Obama told the continent’s leaders that he wanted to focus on how to expand trade, strengthen governments and improve security in Africa.
