Well many may think that this is common knowledge that unapproved medicine should not be used. However, some do not know. Health officials are warning Maryland residents not to use unapproved medication to treat children’s cold. The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene received an email last Thursday about Baczol. Baczol is an antibiotic that normally requires a prescription. This medication is not approved in the United States but is being sold in some of convenience stores in the Latino communities. The medication is being marketed under the names Baczol, Pediatric Baczol or Baczol Antigripal. Health officials say that Baczol is not safe for young children. Be careful!
