CeeLo Green Issues An Apology

Cee Lo Green 6

Am I reading those tweets correctly? Hmmm well recently CeeLo Green who is a singer and co-host of The Voice plead no contest to charges alleging he gave a woman ecstasy. This of course was without her consent during a dinner back in 2012. The woman claim she was drugged while out to dinner in Los Angeles with Green. She does not remember what happens all she knows is she woke up the next morning next to Green in bed.

Green was charged with felony drug possession, but a rape charge was never filed due to lack of evidence. Green was given a sentence of three years probation and 45 days of community service. He claims everything that happened was consensual.

Well one tweet that caught my attention was when he said, “If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! So WITH implies consent!”

That’s an interesting comment. If someone is passed out than that means they could not verbally agree to lay with you. Now yes I am not a lawyer or a Judge but that doesn’t even sound right. If I passed out for some reason and I did not give a man permission to sleep with me than that is not consent. Of course things happen and in this case a allegedly drugs was used. People say things, agree with things, and if drugs was used than they may not remember.

The tweets were deleted and he has issued an apology!

“I truly and deeply apologize for the comments attributed to me on Twitter. Those comments were idiotic, untrue and not what I believe,” he tweeted.
