No Bling For Starbucks Employees

Citing “food safety concerns,” Starbucks is adding a new rule to their dress code. No “bling” or any ring that has gems can not be worn to work. The popular coffee chain is under fire because of this. Their infographic says, “Wearing a ring is okay if it’s a plain band, no stones. Unfortunately no watches, bracelets or wristbands are allowed. Simple necklaces can be worn under your clothes.”

So, no bling for the employees. Is this necessary? I was thinking it was more of a safety issue if the company experience robberies but food safety concerns? Perhaps some ones rock fell off during service. The ban is said to be targeting women workers.
