A decision to appeal Ray Rice’s indefinite suspension decision could be back in before Thanksgiving. Many believe Rice has a good chance of being reinstated. However, the question is if he was allowed back in would anyone want him? Yet at anytime a decision ending his suspension for beating his now wife by Federal Judge Barbara Jones could come back allowing Rice back to the NFL.
The argument is that the league punished him twice for the same incident. Rice was initially suspended two games, however, when TMZ publicized a video of the incident, the suspension turned indefinite. He was fired by the Ravens. He faced a lot of media scrutiny. If he is reinstated he will not play for Baltimore. “He will not play for us,” said Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti.
Even though he faced scrutiny, the player’s union has been an ally for him. There duty is to protect that rights of the players. Rice is in strong shape and physically ready for a return according to CBS Sports. The final decision is expected before Thanksgiving.
