Officials of the University of Maryland School of Medicine that results from the preliminary results should be expected in four to eight weeks. The experimental vaccine is being administered at the University with 20 volunteers in Baltimore. The study is being conducted by the school’s Center for Vaccine Development. The vaccine has been developed by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases as well as GlaxoSmithKline.
Researchers will evaluate different dosages of the vaccine, learn about the safety of the different doses and how it stimulates immune response.
