Ex-Felon Voting Rights Restoration Bill Approved By Senate

Hands of the prisonerSpearheaded by Senator Joan Carter Conway, the Maryland Senate voted 29-18 to restore voting rights to ex-felons. This will happen immediately after they’re released from prison. The current Maryland law does not allow someone who is convicted of felony in Maryland to register to vote until after the complete their sentencing. This includes, prison time, probation and parole. The Bill will now go to the House.
